LOCAL CHAPTERS
Huntsville-Sand Mountain Region of ACCR
January 24, 2008

The regional chapter meets on the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Habitat for Humanity building on the corner of Washington St. and Pratt Ave. in Huntsville. As often as possible, we invite guest speakers to our meetings.

The officers for 2008 are Doug Seay, chair (dougseay@comcast.net), and Bob Robertson, secretary-treasurer (bob.robertson@knology.net). Immediate past officers are Bill Goodson and Jack Little.

The chapter has been active in promotion of ACCR initiatives, including a petition drive that was begun in 2005 and resulted in over 60,000 signatures statewide. That drive was the brainchild of Bill Giardini, our chapter’s long-time sparkplug.

Another of our dedicated members, Hartwell Lutz, has served on the state board and a special commission to recommend changes in the constitution.

Current efforts include a public debate to be held February 26, 2008, between Lenora Pate (chair of the state ACCR Inc. board) and Mo Brooks (county commissioner and opponent.)

We offer speakers along with the film, It’s a Thick Book, to groups in the area.

For more information, you may call Bill Goodson at 256-536-7535.
